SPOTLIGHT Education SHOWCASE

Spotlight Showcase is a professionally produced, two-night event taking place at the Historic State Theatre. It highlights the hard work and talent of the students, teachers, families, and community members that are part of the vibrant high school musical theatre community in Minnesota. Thousands of students throughout Minnesota benefit from enhanced theater education each year. And Hennepin Arts transforms the Hennepin Theatre District with vibrant, inclusive programs, fostering a sense of community and diversity.

one act play competition

One Act Play is a Minnesota State High School League (MNSHSL) 35-minute play competition. Local High Schools compete in their sections for a chance to star at the State Festival, the highest achievement that a One Act can receive in the state of Minnesota. High Schools choose and perform a One Act play that meets MNSHSL rules and perform for a panel of judges to qualify for the next round of competition.
